Ardnahoe, Worth the Wait

Moderate≈47m on the road£60pp≈5 hrs

Hunter Laing spent decades bottling other people's whisky before finally building a distillery of their own — Ardnahoe opened its doors in 2019, then made everyone wait five more years before its first single malt was bottled in May 2024. Today, you get to taste exactly what that wait was for. The Ultimate Ardnahoe Experience (about three hours) starts in the production area, past the worm tubs and up into the stillhouse to see the lyne arms, with water drawn from Islay's own "infinite loch" — then into Warehouse No.1 for a tasting drawn from four individual casks, exclusive to this experience. Afterwards, it's a level walk from the car park to the Paps of Jura Panorama for open views across to Jura, then back to the café for a coffee before moving on.
